The story of a photographer

Ever since I can remember I have loved creative arts, dancing, drawings, arts, and music. I once upon a time wanted to be an architect because I wanted to design homes, but became an engineer because the science aspect was appealing. Since I was very young I've loved ballet, but it wasn't until I was a bit older that I became a dancer. I love the way music and body movement combine to create art in the form of dance. I think this is why I love candid photographs. Interestingly enough, I didn't become interested in photography until I was in college. As a civil engineering student, one of the classes I had to take was in technical writing. The professor introduced photography towards the end of the course because to him capturing your own photographs for technical reports was more professional. Not long after I went out and purchased a beginner Nikon camera. I can remember that I used to get frustrated because I couldn't figure out how to use the camera. I set the camera down for a few years. When my first son was born, I picked it up again. I began to buy books, courses, watch hours of videos in order to learn, but I just couldn't figure it out. I then began looking at my camera like an engineering formula and bam! I got it.

Since then I have loved capturing our family adventures as we explore the outdoors. We spend a lot of time outdoors camping and hiking. Something about the stunning backdrops with people in front of them, inspires me so much. As I continued in this creative journey, I began to photograph other people and slowly realized that I was falling in love with capturing those simple yet impactful moments shared between a mom and a son, or a couple in love, the sweet moment when a child runs towards their parent with open arms. I love movement and genuine interactions to show in my photography. I have come to love photographing families, couples, mothers with their littles and those mamas who are expecting their first baby. As you may see, my dance and engineering background have somehow collided to inspire my work and photography. I would love to capture the moments in your life that you will look back at and cause nostalgic feelings.
